By now everyone has heard that Sarah Palin is (gasp!) a working mother! She wanted her abusive brother-in-law fired, apparently she believes State Troopers should be fine, upstanding citizens. Her 17 year old daughter is pregnant, which I’ve heard happens in the best of families. The Republicans can concede that Governor Palin is human.

What we haven’t heard is that the Governor is friends, or in aquaintence, or had political help from a known terrorist. There is no evidence that she sat in a church for 20 years with a racist and hateful pastor at the pulpit. No shady real estate deals with criminals have come to light. She has not uttered that she is proud of America for the first time in her life.

Governor Palin is not claiming to be God. She cannot walk on water or solve every problem of every American. She cannot change the sea level, nor will she single handedly end poverty in the entire world. Nobody can.

To say this pick doesn’t energize the conservative base is ridiculous.

1-She is fearless! She’ll take on corruption, even in her own party.

2-As a pro-lifer, she doesn’t just talk the talk, she walks the walk.

3-She used her veto pen to cut wasteful spending.

4-She has actually had a veto pen.

5-She is anti-earmark.

6-She knows how to use a gun.

7-She’s tough as nails but still manages to be feminine.

8-She’s competent and genuine.

9-She can talk about her own hard work, not just her parents.

10-She doesn’t just talk about the American dream, she is the American dream!

The McCain campaign’s plan to announce the VP pick this morning was brilliant. Any momentum picked up by Barack Obama has come to a halt. The news this morning is all about McCain and speculation on the VP pick. By all reports it looks like it’s going to be Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin is a strong conservative, she’s tough and far more experienced than Barack Obama. She’s also a youthful mother of five and will really help McCain with women voters. 

I think McCain may have managed to take the wind out of Obama’s sails. I can’t wait for the Vice Presidential debates!

Obama announced his running mate. Much to my chagrin it’s not John Kerry. But Joe Biden should be fun to pick on. I don’t have time to get into it today but here’s an article outlining Biden’s many gaffes over the years. Enjoy!

Seriously, does anyone really care about Obama’s VP choice? Conservatives don’t, we know it’ll be another big liberal, they’re all interchangeable. Democrats won’t care, Obama’s the One, the Messiah, the saviour of the world; and again, if you’ve seen one big lib you’ve seen them all.

Just this morning the Politico reported that Nancy Pelosi called him “a leader that God has blessed us with at this time.” Wow, who knew Democrats believed in God?

At the same time, Obama told his supporters “I will win. Don’t worry about that.” Sounds a bit over-confident to me. Especially after his dismal performance at Saddleback, avoiding a question because it was “above his pay scale”. He may as well have plead the fifth.

But Obama’s the golden boy of the media. His VP pick is nothing more than a side note in this “historic nomination”. But seriously, what’s so historic about a liberal Democrat running for President?
