Obama vs. The Media

Posted by Lonely Conservative On January - 2 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

The media is like a love-struck teenager, in love with the aloof older boy, Obama. No matter how he disses them he can do no wrong. Will there come a day the jilted lovers will have had enough?  I wonder what the odds are….

Worth A Read

Orwell’s Children - Bruce Walker remembers Jonestown, Nazi Germany and the Soviets.

We are drifting into the sort of horrific future he described. Too many of us for comfort or solace have become just like the denizens of Jonestown: Orwell’s children — a new generation of creature enraged into constant militancy against eternal enemies, oblivious to the notion of a Blessed Creator, melded into the consciousness of the party hive, divorced from history, hypnotized by images, inoculated against reason, stripped of family, and existing only to serve the cause.

Obama Lexicon - It looks like we’ll be adding a whole bunch of new words to our vocabulary.

First there was Obamamania. And the media declared it good. Now that the senator from Illinois is our president-elect, we have to ask the question: What comes after Obamamania? And we don’t mean what does he stand for. That would require responsible, objective journalism.

Palin’s Failin’? On what planet?

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 21 - 2008 20 COMMENTS

Last week Peggy Noonan wrote “Palin’s Failin - What is it she stands for? After seven weeks we still don’t know.” All of this Palin bashing is getting a bit old.

Perhaps Noonan should have waited until after Sarah’s appearance on Saturday Night Live. She managed to do what few Republicans have done before. No, I’m not talking about having a sense of humor. She was able to tame the liberal beast Alec Baldwin.

The hater of all things conservative not only complimented Governor Palin on her sportsmanship, he said she was more polite and gracious than some of the actors who appear on SNL.

How’s that for diplomacy!

Recently Palin has been increasingly available to the media. Not only is she holding impromptu news conferences with the media, but unlike her opponent she hasn’t had any major gaffes! Read full story.

Certainly the reporter had to remind us of her (edited) performance with Katie Couric, but  he also reported that Governor Palin “seems to relish the opportunity to demonstrate that her breadth of knowledge far exceeds” what was portrayed in the Couric interview.

He also pointed out that Joe Biden’s been on a short leash and hasn’t held a press conference in over a month. (This story was released before Biden’s famous quote that an Obama presidency will cause an international crisis.)

Unlike Joe Biden, Palin “confidently approaches the cameras, rather than trying to avoid them” and gives answers that are “clear and concise.”

Today on the stump Palin pounced on Joe Biden’s ‘international crisis’ comment (with which Madeline Albright wholeheartedly agrees) and the Politico, who isn’t exactly on the side of McCain/Palin, declared Palin had the quote of the day.

“Did you hear what Senator Biden said at a fundraiser on Sunday? He guaranteed that if Barack Obama is elected, we’ll face an international crisis within the first six months of their administration. He told Democrat donors to mark his words - that there were “at least four or five scenarios” that would place our country at risk in an Obama administration…I guess the looming crisis that most worries the Obama campaign right now is Joe Biden’s next speaking engagement. Let’s call that crisis scenario number five.”

Failing? Maybe she’s failing at sounding like an elite snob, other than that I’d say she’s doing a fine job.

The election’s over?

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 16 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

This morning on Good Morning America Diane Sawyer spoke to Sam Donaldson about last night’s debate. Donaldson said McCain won the debate and then all but came out and said the election’s over and McCain lost.

The last time I checked my calendar we sitll have almost three weeks to go until election day. The American people have not yet spoken! Read the rest of this entry »

Huh?

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 15 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

The following conversation took place between four people.

#1-Barack Obama wants to require girls to register with the Selective Service. If the draft is ever re-instituted your daughters could be forced to do battle.

#2-That’s awful.

#3-Did you support the Iraq war?

#1-Huh?

#3-Did you support the Iraq war?

#1-Yes, but what’s that got to do with it?

#2-Some girls are tough enough for military service, but a lot of girls are really prissy. Can you imagine that?

#4-A lot of boys are prissy, too.

#1-Walked away. Read the rest of this entry »

IBD Warns of a Socialist Tsunami

Barack Obama throws the press under the bus

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 9 - 2008 9 COMMENTS

One would think Barack Obama would treat reporters like kings, they are his biggest supporters. According to Dean Reynolds at CBS News, the Obama campaign treats the press quite shabbily, while the McCain campaign is much friendlier and more accommodating to the press.

The Obama campaign doesn’t give reporters itineraries, leaves them idling for hours in vehicles (how is that good for the environment?) and Obama’s aides are often unprepared and un-informed. Read the rest of this entry »

MSM on Spin Cycle

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 7 - 2008 3 COMMENTS

As John McCain and Sarah Palin turn up the heat on Barack Obama the mean stream media’s feeling the need to go into full spin cycle.

Since Sarah Palin’s jabs about Obama’s relationship with terrorist Bill Ayers, the media had no choice but to report the news, but they’re doing their darndest to change the subject or downplay the ties between Obama and Ayers. Read the rest of this entry »

The seeds have been sown

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 6 - 2008 5 COMMENTS

American Interests has an interesting look at how the seeds of socialism have been sown here in America. It happened quite some time ago. It’s no wonder they had to destroy Joseph McCarthy. Is it too late to wipe it out?

In the 1920s, Vladimir Lenin charged a select group of communist espionage officers with a long-term covert influence project: undermine the culture, society, and economy of the United States. Read the rest of this entry »

Yet again, ABC rears its ugly anti-Palin bias

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 2 - 2008 6 COMMENTS

ABC News’ blog wrote about Senator Orrin Hatch sending an email saying that Gwen Ifill is in the tank for Obama and that Sarah Palin is being set up. Now, it’s not a problem that they are reporting this news, the problem is this:

Don’t think Republicans are trying to get some mileage out of this (wholly manufactured) Gwen Ifill thing?  read story

Wholly manufactured? Maybe that’s their opinion, but it isn’t the opinion of most people. Gwen Ifil stands to make a ton of dough if Obama’s elected. In case you haven’t heard, her book “Breakthrough, Politics and Race in the Age of Obama” is due to be released on inauguration day.

But we’re supposed to think she’s entirely impartial. Just as ABC News is impartial. Sorry, America isn’t buying it.

Sarah Palin-John McCain’s September Surprise!

Posted by Lonely Conservative On September - 4 - 2008 5 COMMENTS

In front of more than 37 million of her fellow Americans, Sarah Palin not only cleared the zone but inflicted a board check against the Democrats and the media. Thinking she’s just some country bumpkin mayor from Alaska, they weren’t expecting her to deliver Wednesday night. Boy were they wrong and boy are they mad!

Roger Simon at Politico wrote a scathing rebuttal. The Boston Herald went after her hair. Annette Bening called her bizarre and said nobody she knows would vote for McCain (as if that’s some sort of secret). Over at the Chicago Sun Times they say she has the heart of a street fighter.  It seems the most positive press for Governor Palin came from across the pond, where the UK Sun called her speech simply stunning. Indeed, it was stunning. And she totally caught them off guard.

This morning on Good Morning America, looking like they were caught with their pants down, Charles Gibson, Katie Couric and Brian Williams responded to accusations of sexism from the media. They said they wouldn’t be doing their jobs if they didn’t ask tough questions. One of them said that if Obama had chosen Tim Kaine, Kaine would have received the same treatment. Good example, a hypothetical that cannot be proved nor disproved. Please, tell me another one.

Barack Obama and his campaign aren’t any happier than their media mouthpieces. Obama complained about Palin’s attacks on him. He has a very short memory, did he forget about his speech a week ago? You know the attack on John McCain, the one the media ate up? Count how many times he mentions George Bush, Dick Cheney and John McCain, portraying them as villians who rob people of the American dream.

In response to Governor Palin’s speech, Obama’s campaign manager sniffed that Palin hadn’t mentioned health care. Obama whined about why Palin didn’t talk about making college affordable (not mentioning that liberals control the colleges). Their complaint against her is that she isn’t pandering to people! They simply don’t understand that people can like Sarah Palin if she is not promising goodies, provided by the fruits of others’ labor.

Yes, it’s stunning! I do believe Sarah Palin is the best thing to happen to the GOP since Ronald Reagan.

The Democratic Party-Official home of misogynists and hypocrites

Posted by Lonely Conservative On September - 2 - 2008 3 COMMENTS

Who can forget Elton John lamenting the misogynystic attitudes of many Americans. Will the liberal foreigner, who frequently sticks his nose and mouth into the US political process, come out against the treatment Sarah Palin has received from the left and the media?

The National Organization for Women should change it’s name to the National Organization for Women Unless You Disagree With Us. They immediately came out swinging against Sarah Palin.

The Democratic Party and their cheerleaders in the media have said for years that families are off limits, yet they go after Sarah Palin and her family with a vengeance. They are telling the women and girls of America that to run for political office is to open oneself up to malicious personal attacks.

The self-proclaimed champions of equality for women question this woman’s ability to raise a family while serving her country. It’s as if she’s the first woman ever to hold a job outside of the home.

They tell us experience doesn’t matter and running a campaign is experience enough, then go after the experience of a sitting governor and former mayor. It is absolutely mind boggling! Are we going to let them get away with it?

Yet again, the media misses the mark

Some Reflections on Bob Woodruff’s China White Wash

By Peter Navarro

Author of The Coming China Wars

“So near to the truth, yet so far.”  That’s the feeling I came away with after watching Bob Woodruff’s recent China Inside Out documentary for ABC news.  It’s regrettable that a journalist of such a high caliber as Woodruff can get so close to a story and not really see it — while helping to perpetuate a number of dangerous myths about China.

Woodruff’s approach seemed very promising at first.  He went to four different continents and countries in order to assess the global impacts of China, the countries being Angola, Brazil, Cambodia, and the United States. Read the rest of this entry »
