The Circus is Back in Town

Posted by Lonely Conservative On January - 5 - 2009 4 COMMENTS

I didn’t realize how nice and quiet the political scene has been until the freak show returned to DC today.

Claiming there’s only one President at a time, Mr. Obama refused to comment on the Israel-Gaza conflict while centrally planning the entire US economy with his new team. There were moments the members of his team seemed to look a bit confused, as if thinking “Does our new boss have any clue what the f*** he is doing?”

He soon answered the unspoken question by naming Leon Panetta as the new head of the CIA. It’s the year of the clueless in Washington! Heck, we’ve been safe for over 7 years, why not play roulette with the lives of Americans?

It’s starting to look like the change we were waiting for is defined as “The same old faces we’ve seen in Washington for decades, only this time we’re playing musical jobs!”

But there are a few new faces. Harry Reid defiantly came out in defense of Al Franken’s vote stealing while vowing to stop Roland Burris (whose appointment may be embarrassing but is still legal) from being sworn in.

Yet some things never change. Like Nancy Pelosi’s face, no matter what emotion she attempts to convey.

Go ahead, Harry, tell us what you really think

As a bonus, there’s deodorant advice from Brian Kilmead.

John McCain - Leaps Across the Aisle

Posted by Lonely Conservative On November - 25 - 2008 2 COMMENTS

John McCain wasted no time after his electoral defeat by Barack Obama to reach across the aisle. According to Senator Harry Reid, Obama and McCain have come to an agreement on immigration. Read story at HotAir.com. At least now McCain can stop pretending to be a conservative. The rest of us better start taking Spanish lessons.

Democrat Hypocrisy

The Democrats plan to investigate George W. Bush after he leaves office. Read story. It’s almost laughable after their recent declarations about a new age of bi-partisanship.

Gee, I wonder if they will investigate their role in the collapse of the mortgage industry or Chuck Schumer’s role in causing a bank to fail or Harry Reid’s big mouth causing a steep decline in the stocks of the insurance industry. Now that would be bi-partisan!

Dennis Miller smacks down Harry Reid

Harry Reid’s an idiot and Dennis Miller’s just the man to make the point. This is great!

I don’t care who you are, this is just funny!

Do you really believe Obama will lower your taxes?

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 28 - 2008 9 COMMENTS

Were you a taxpayer when George W. Bush’s tax cuts took effect? If you answered yes, you know that whether you are rich, poor or middle class George W. Bush cut your taxes (unless you have a very short memory or didn’t pay taxes in the first place.) The left has twisted Bush’s tax cuts into “a give away for the rich.”

George Bush cut taxes across the board. We are a middle class family, and the reduction in our tax obligation made a difference in our budget.  Back then my husband and I made less than we do now, but we clearly benefited from those cuts as did all Americans.

Imagine that, we are better off than we were eight years ago. Yet we are somewhat worse off than we were two years ago, before Democrats took control of Congress. It’s a good thing we have quite a few years to make up for the losses in our 401k accounts. But I digress. Read the rest of this entry »

Voting for Obama? Well then, welcome to New York.

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 18 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

The citizens of New York State are among the highest taxed people in the US. Our state government loves to spend money, and they’re predicting a growing budget deficit in the months and years to come. This is with only two branches of the state government in the hands of democrats.

When gas was over $4.00 per gallon we all started driving a little less. Isn’t this what the liberals wanted us to do? Unfortunately for tax-and-spend New York when we started buying less gas one of their revenue sources dwindled. So they have to get creative in order to keep the money flowing into Albany. Chuck Schumer + Harry Reid = Economic Catastrophe

Posted by Lonely Conservative On October - 2 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

With senators like Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid, who needs enemies? Who can forget the run on IndyMac bank caused by Chuck Schumer and his big mouth?

Now we have Schumer’s pal, Harry Reid, causing a steep drop in insurers’ stocks. Last night Harry Reid declared that a major insurance company was on the verge of bankruptcy. According to CNN Money:

“Harry Reid didn’t help any,” Schwartz said.

New York-based MetLife (MET, Fortune 500) was one of the hardest-hit insurers Thursday. Its stock plunged nearly 16%. Thursday’s drop comes after a 14% decline on Wednesday.

Shares of Hartford Financial Services (HIG, Fortune 500) fell about 33%, following a 7% decline on Wednesday. The stock has lost more than half of its value this week. Read article.

If it’s true the Democrats are not engaging in the strategy of manufactured crisis, they sure have a funny way of showing it. If they don’t want people to believe it they may want to tell Senators Reid and Schumer to sit down and shut up!

Sneaky Harry Reid proposes shale ban during financial crisis!

He’s calling George Bush AWOL!?!?

Posted by Lonely Conservative On September - 17 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

In Politico’s Arena, Leon Panetta called George Bush AWOL on the economy. These Democrats have such short memories.

Who was AWOL in 2003 when President Bush called on Congress to pass legislation to better oversee the dealings of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Who was AWOL in 2006 when Senator McCain gave a speech on the same subject?

Where was Senator Clinton? Senator Obama? Nancy Pelosi? Harry Reid? Barney Frank? I’ll tell you where, they were in Fannie and Freddie’s pockets, in the name of “housing for the poor”. That’s where they were!

I wouldn’t blame President Bush if he pulls a John Galt and just walks away. Why shouldn’t he? He’s gotten nothing but grief and partisan games from Democrats since the day he took office. It’s only gotten worse since 2006.

America-you wanted change. You got it in 2006 when you turned the House and the Senate over to the Democrats. How is that working out? You want more of that kind of change? If that’s the case Atlas has already shrugged.

All Aboard! It’s the Trash Talk Express!

Posted by Lonely Conservative On August - 21 - 2008 8 COMMENTS

Realizing that nuance isn’t selling, the Democrats have hopped aboard Barack Obama’s shiny new Trash Talk Express. Earlier this week Obama said about John McCain “he doesn’t know what he’s up against.”

Now Harry Reid’s come out and said “I can’t stand John McCain.” Oh, how clever. Nothing like sticking to the issues.

Today they’re attacking John McCain for owning real estate. Someone might want to tell Obama he really should keep quiet about real estate.

Hypocrites that they are, the Democrats won’t drop it. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine said “I understand that Sen. McCain was asked yesterday this question, ‘how many houses do you own?,’ and he couldn’t answer that question. He couldn’t count high enough apparently to even know how many houses he owns.” That’s mature.

Seriously, my seven year old comes up with better insults than these guys. Could they try to be a little more creative? They must be hanging out at prep-school playgrounds.

Harry Reid Says Taxes are Voluntary in America

Posted by lonelyconservative On July - 26 - 2008 6 COMMENTS

Yes, you read that right. In this interview, with a straight face, Harry Reid says over and over again that paying taxes in the United States of America is voluntary! How could anyone make this stuff up? He had no choice but to concede that some tax evaders are fined or even imprisoned for not paying their taxes, but then reiterates that paying taxes in the USA is a voluntary process. There you have it folks, straight from Harry Reid’s mouth. Save this video so when you decide to stop paying taxes you can tell the IRS Harry Reid said it’s voluntary.
