There’s been much speculation about the direction Barack Obama will go when he ascends to the Presidency. Some believe he may take the moderate route, a la Bill Clinton. Others believe he’ll take the liberal route, a la Jimmy Carter, while others fear he will try to quietly and incrementally pass leftist legislation with the aid and cover of the main stream media.

The way things are shaping up, it appears he may take the full throttle lefty route, possibly starting with nationalizing health care. According to the Wall Street Journal, the selection of Tom Daschle to head HHS, and last week’s release of a health care policy blue print by Senator Max Baucus, are strong signs that we’re headed toward a national health care plan. What Does Obama’s European Socialism Model Look Like?

Listening to the pundits, you may hear that a fundamental difference in philosophy between McCain and Obama centers on the fabric of our society. In essence Obama and his liberal supporters like Pelosi, Frank, Reid, Dodd and Schumer prefer America to come more in line with the Western European socialist style democracies. McCain and his conservative supporters back a more traditional American Capitalist style of democracy.

Early this morning (afternoon here in West Yorkshire England) I caught a remote broadcast from Brian Wilson in Raleigh, North Carolina. Other than the fact that I am always amazed by the global access we have to information these days, I was taken by the undecided voters Brian was interviewing. They all had the same view. They are tired of the same old thing, but afraid of what change might bring.

I thought a little show and tell might be in order. First, I’ll assume that you are already familiar with the same old thing in terms of what you pay for groceries, gasoline, a car, or a house. I hope you also realize that the change Obama is talking about is not a return to the “good old days” whatever that might mean. Read the rest of this entry »

Obama was against his rescue plan before he was for it.

When Hillary Clinton proposed a moratorium on mortgage foreclosures, Barack Obama called her plan disastrous. Now he’s come out with a plan that’s eerily similar to Hillary’s proposal. Read the rest of this entry »

Obamathematics

Posted by Allen Wilson On October - 13 - 2008 3 COMMENTS

Barack Obama has taken the old adage of buying votes with the voter’s money to a new level by applying a simple form of mathematics. The equation states that you can afford to alienate 5% of the voting public by promising to use their money to pay the remaining 95% for their votes. This may sound somewhat dishonest but if you couch it in the rhetoric of taxing the wealthy to help the middle class it becomes much more palatable.

Obama also employs the new English to go along with the new math. Once again he evokes the 95% figure and says that this percentage will get a tax reduction. If roughly 45 million tax filers have no tax liability, according to the IRS, how can they reduce their income tax?  Well you have to use the new math and the new English and then it all works out. Tax reduction is the new welfare. This must be what Obama calls education reform. Read the rest of this entry »

Barack Obama-A get-rich-quick infomercial

The Obama campaign’s latest email sounds like one of those too-good-to-be-true-get-rich-quick schemes. Here are the highlights.

This week, the economic troubles that have long been simmering on Main Street boiled over to Wall Street, putting our entire economy in danger. Read the rest of this entry »

Obama displays weakness again

Posted by Lonely Conservative On September - 19 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Today Barack Obama said “Given the gravity of this situation….I have asked my economic team to refrain from presenting a more detailed blue-print of how an immediate plan might be structured until the Treasury and the Federal Reserve have had an opportunity to present their proposal.” Read Full Story.

That statement says alot about Barack Obama’s lack of understanding of the economy. My guess is that his advisors told him to stop talking, not the other way around. He’s fooled quite a few people into trusting him on the economy and they probably thought it best for him to not show his hand. Read the rest of this entry »
