Ugh. The Tax Foundation is out with the latest data on Tax Freedom Day, and on average Americans will work until April 24 to pay their federal, state and local taxes. If you think that’s bad, try living and working in my state of New York where Tax Freedom Day doesn’t come until May 8, only Connecticut and New Jersey are worse. Americans now spend more on taxes than we do on food, clothing and housing combined. No wonder I always feel so broke.
The best states are Louisiana, South Dakota and Mississippi, but even there they have to work until early April to pay for the cost of government.
Here’s the map. CNS News has more.

Well, it could be worse. We could living in a Communist state where there is no tax freedom day.
(By the way, does anyone know what tax freedom day is when the national debt and all the unfunded liabilities are factored in?)

If you follow the link to the tax foundation and scroll down you should be able to find the info on the debt.
