HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius appeared before a House committee today to testify about the botched Obamacare rollout and it was about what you would expect. She denied that the Obamacare website ever crashed, even though it was down during her testimony. She said she takes responsibility for the problems and when asked if President Obama is ultimately responsible she replied “Whatever.” Then she was caught with a hot mic saying “Don’t do this to me.” Gee, I think that’s what millions of Americans are saying about this dreaded Obamacare.
She also said that there is no penalty for contractors for failing to meet their obligations. So I guess that means they treat their contractors better than the American people.
Oh, then there was this exchange:
Rep. Cory Gardner: “Why aren’t you losing your insurance?”
HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius: “Pardon me?”
Gardner: “Why aren’t you losing your health insurance?”
Sebelius: “Because I’m part of the federal employees’ medical plan.”
Gardner: “Why aren’t you in the exchange? You’re in charge of this law, correct? Why aren’t you in the exchange?”
Sebelius: “Because I’m part of the federal employee health benefit plan.”
How nice for her.
