So Many Scandals, So Little Time – Updated

Obama Clinton

Good grief, there are so many scandals with the Obama administration it’s hard to keep up with them all. Benghazi. The IRS targeting conservatives. The Department of Justice grabbing the phone records of the Associated Press. I don’t even know where to begin.

Protein Wisdom has the latest on Benghazi, which has been sort of overshadowed because of the other scandals these past couple of days.

The IRS released confidential documents of conservative groups to the progressive website Pro Publica, which is mostly funded by George Soros.

A St. Louis news anchor was targeted by the IRS after an interview with President Obama in which the anchor didn’t fawn and swoon over Obama.

Today Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that we’ve only just scratched the surface of the IRS scandal. But don’t worry, Attorney General Eric Holder said he’s ordered the DOJ to conduct an investigation. In know, that’s hardly comforting considering that Holder claims he recused himself from the decision to seize the records of the Associated Press.

Of course, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney didn’t have much to say about any of this.

The White House deflected questions on both controversies during its own press briefingTuesday.

The press secretary, Jay Carney, said he could not comment on the Justice Department’s actions amid the continuing investigation. He was similarly reticent about the I.R.S., citing the investigation by the inspector general of the agency, which he said would shed more light on what happened. I.R.S. officials have admitted singling out dozens of Tea Party-inspired groups that had applied for tax-exempt status, submitting them to detailed questioning.

On Monday, President Obama said he would not tolerate such behavior by the I.R.S. and promised to “make sure that we find out exactly what happened on this.”

The raft of allegations, on top of a recurring dispute over the White House’s handling of the deadly attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, has put Mr. Obama on the defensive more so than at any other time in his presidency, threatening to engulf his domestic agenda.

At the daily news briefing, Mr. Carney manifested the difficult spot in which the White House finds itself, dodging and weaving under tough questioning over the leak investigation, the I.R.S. case and Benghazi. (Read More)

Here’s a question – how are people going to feel about the IRS being the enforcement arm of Obamacare after all of this?

Update: The rats are jumping ship! Democrats are starting to recognize that they need to put as much distance as they can between themselves and this corrupt administration.
