Last night retired General Jack Keane told Mike Huckabee that the US was aware of Osama Bin Laden’s whereabouts for nearly a year before President Obama gave the order to take him out.

I was surprised that it was taking that long to execute because the longer you spend on something like that the greater likely hood is that the target will be compromised because of your surveillance and then that target will flee.
In related news, the Obama administration drafted a memo before going after Bin Laden outlining how they would deflect blame onto the military if the operation went bad.
