Thank You, Hilary Rosen

Do you remember in 2008 when the left (and some alleged conservatives) blasted Sarah Palin for being a working mother? As Michelle Malkin said, when it comes to conservative women, we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t. A conservative mother with a successful career is called a rotten, selfish woman who doesn’t care about her kids. A conservative mother who stays home to raise her family “hasn’t worked a day in her life” and has no business talking about the economy. (Among other things.)

The left is really becoming quite predictable. Ann Romney is now the subject of their ire, and they’re using the same foul and disgusting language we’ve all come to expect from them against this fine woman. Here’s one that’s quite telling:

Ann Romney: “I know what its like to struggle.” –> BITCH STFU! You don’t know the 1st thing about “struggle” you rich bitch! >: [

What kind of person, but a vulgar and brainwashed ignoramus, would state that a woman who has survived breast cancer and lives with Multiple Sclerosis doesn’t know struggle? It looks like Obama’s rhetoric is working on at least a portion of the population. The left so loves to dehumanize those with whom they disagree. No doubt these people are quite proud of their vile comments.

But here’s the thing, when the left does this to people online like yours truly who aren’t that well known, they get away with it. But when they do it to the who may well be the next First Lady it gets some attention. And Ann Romney handled it with grace and class. She didn’t call anyone names. She didn’t degrade the person who degraded her. She acted like a decent woman defending the choices she’s made in life, and she did it well.

Not only has Hilary Rosen’s attack on Mrs. Romney exposed, yet again, how progressives treat conservative women, it also fired up conservatives to rally around Mitt Romney.

So I guess we should all be thanking Hilary Rosen.

Michelle Malkin also was kind enough to post a list of all of Hilary Rosen’s visits to the White House. Now that they’ve tossed her under the bus I doubt she’ll be invited back for a while.

The Temple of Mut notes that the Obama campaign has been worried about Mitt Romney’s “secret weapon” for quite some time. I guess now they know just how worried they should be.

The Other McCain reminds us that “if it weren’t for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.” I suppose the same can be said for them when it comes to class, there’s is all low.

POH Diaries picked up on how the left found a tweet or two commenting on Rosen’s sexuality as evidence of conservative animosity towards gays and lesbians. Can you imagine what they would do to a conservative lesbian running for office? I hate to even think about it.

American Power has a nice roundup of the way the Democrats have again failed when it comes to framing the debate. “So there you go, your Democrat Media Complex frame-fail for the day! (And more really good news for Romney at that poll.)” Heh!

Oh, now don’t worry all you libs. I’m sure the Washington Post, or some other liberal outlet, will soon come out with a poll that oversamples democrats showing Obama with a slight lead over Romney.

Update: Jim Geraghty has written a profile of Rosen that’s a must-read. She once praised Nancy Pelosi, who is quite wealthy herself, for staying home and raising five children. (See quote from TOM above.) She also spent much of her career working to turn children who downloaded music into criminals.

Update: Linked by The Other McCain – thanks!
