Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified before the House Education and Workforce Committee last week about the contraception mandate her agency has imposed on religious institutions. Her responses to questions on the constitutionality of the mandate would have been laughable if this wasn’t such a serious issue. She hadn’t a clue about any legal precedents when it comes to religious freedom. She said she tried to find a balance between religious liberty and the mandate, but “I’m not a lawyer, and I don’t pretend to understand the nuances of the constitutional balancing tests.”
Here’s the video of Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) questioning Sebelius, who made a complete fool of herself. In short, no thought was given to the constitution - not when Obamacare was passed, and not when these mandates were enacted.

To liberals, if they pass a law or make a policy it is Constitutional simply because they say so.

Why are any of these frauds being paid?
And we’re paying them.
And they’ll be running our health care system, if the Comrade gets re-elected.
Ruining our health care system is more like it.
They are being paid because the fraud in the White House continues to support them.
Secretary Sibelius couldn’t find even ONE lawyer in all of HHS that she could have asked about the legality???
Just unbelievable.
Nobody’s expecting Sibelius to be a legal expert since she’s not a lawyer. But I would expect the head of HHS to seek out the advice of experts in her department.
All puppets of a dictator believe that the goals of the dictator supersede 200+ year old documents! Hitler had the same affect on his minions!
Sebelius might want to review the Bill of Rights, an important contingency of the constitution! The 13 original states refused to ratify the constitution without these 10 amendments attached, in this case, Sebelius should reread number One!
It’s hard to rule the world when congress keeps on reading the constitution and insisting that it be upheld!
Sebelius has been sipping the Media Matters koolaid too much!
part of the reason the founders passed the constitution was so that we would not be saddled with impossible debts.
