I saw the orthopedic surgeon this morning and so far things in the wrist are right where they’re supposed to be. The fracture is displaced, meaning it went clear across the bone and then up into the joint. He said the ER resident did a nice job reducing it. I’ll be seen again in a week for another x-ray. I need to take it easy because it could easily shift out of place. If it stays where it is, I’ll just stay in the cast for six to eight weeks and surgery won’t be necessary.
The other good news is that the swelling has peaked and I no longer need to keep it elevated and iced, so my comfort level should improve. Thanks again for all of the kind thoughts and wishes.
I will now return to my regularly scheduled pecking at the keyboard.
Some motherly advice. Get some knitting needles. You’ll need them for when the itching starts. Been there - done that.

It’s already begun! My wise-guy ten year old told me to get a hanger.

Sounds like it’s going as well as it can for now, LC. Glad you’re on the mend!

Sounds like a good night to rest that arm, get comfortable, have the kids bring you some snacks, and watch the undefeated, #1 ranked Orangemen begin Big East play!
