Another ‘Unexpected’ Jump in Jobless Claims

Reuters changed the wording slightly. This week the headline is “Jobless claims rise above expectations.”

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 418,000, the Labor Department said.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims rising to 410,000. The prior week’s figure was revised up to 408,000 from the previously reported 405,000.

It’s the 15th straight week with more than 400,000 new unemployment claims.

Let’s not forget that after the passage of Obamacare private sector job creation took a nose dive. Between that and all of the regulations this administration is putting out there, these rotten employment numbers shouldn’t be unexpected to anyone.
