Keith Olbermann is no longer an employee of MSNBC. The timing is interesting, just after the merger with Comcast.
LA Times reports:
MSNBC announced Friday night that its marquee “Countdown” anchor and talk show host Keith Olbermann was out. The network did not provide a reason for his abrupt departure.
“MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” NBC Universal said in a statement.
My first reaction to this news was to do the Snoopy dance. But Keith Olbermann has been a reliable ugly face of the left. It’s almost like they want to silence the loudest voices of their own philosophy, lest they scare off the middle class. Wasn’t that one of Alinsky’s rules? Don’t frighten the middle class? They can’t have someone actually spelling out their agenda, now, can they? Well, it’s either that, or Comcast execs just loathe the guy and said they wanted him gone. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
