Here’s AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka touting the success of the unions in holding the Senate. He said they were the “firewall.” I’d say they didn’t do as well in House races, and did even worse in state and local races. Despite all of the money they sunk into this past election, the American people have rejected the unions and their allies in government. But I’m sure they were effective in some areas, and the Republican establishment would be wise to keep this in mind when attacking conservative candidates. They’re just making it easier for Trumka and the unions.
