The Same Media that Bashed Bush for Vacations Makes Excuses for Obama
ByEveryone needs vacation time. But when one happens to be the American president, one is never truly on vacation. President Bush was routinely criticized for spending time at his Crawford, Texas ranch. But at least he was available. Where’s the outrage over Obama’s carbon-spewing trips to Hawaii, which isn’t even on the soil of the homeland? And where’s the outrage over the president failing to make any public statements to reassure nervous Americans after a failed terrorist attack on US soil? Oh, that’s right. There is no outrage from the American media. Dear Leader can do no wrong.
Apparently, his silence is some brilliant strategy. Even though silence wasn’t a strategy aftger a cop arrested a belligerent professor. That situation required an immediate, uninformed response. And let’s not forget, the guy’s been on TV nearly every day for the past year, and he chooses NOW to continue his vacation and remain silent? Who knows, maybe his speech writer is on vacation and there are no teleprompters in Hawaii.
CBS News went so far as to write the sympathetic headline “News Interrupts Obama’s Hawaii Vacation.” Oh, poor baby. He wanted the job, he’s got it. Why should we sympathize that he endured a short interruption to his otherwise magnificent vacation? I wonder how the passengers on Northwest 253 felt when their vacations were interrupted – by a terrorist with exploding underwear!!

Isn’t that amazing? A completely inappropriate response hours after Ft. Hood, and silence now. He has spent a year groveling before Islam, reassuring both the sane and respectable Arab world AND Islamic terrorists that we will NOT respond to acts of war–and so does not. Hangin’ in Hawaii instead. Couldn’t bother to address this string of incidents (and add them up, there is quite a string over the last 6 months). Strategy or sympathy on his part? This is devastating; this administration is undoing every gain we made since 9-11, through its silence and accommodation. And nobody seems to care much. And if I hear one more reference to Al Qaeda I’m going to scream: everyone gives them too much credit. They are not the pinnacle of the Islamic terrorist movement–they are a neighborhood chapter. Focusing on them is like focusing on the Alabama chapter of the Ku Klux Klan—as if when you get rid of them, you’ve solved your Klan problem.
We do not have the resolve in this country to deal with this issue. A sympathetic White House doesn’t help.
By the end of this guy’s term except for the hard left, he’ll be the brunt of jokes as Carter was. Their agenda to move Americans left in large steps will never work, but it’s the baby steps that last in our culture and somewhat set a new point to begin working from. It’s not so much as to stop this as it is to reverse it; a much more difficult task.

Comparing Bush to Obama is like comparing Hoover to Roosevelt. Bush spent half his time in Texas. This is Obama’s first time away from the Whitehouse. Conservatives crapped out with Bush. Liberals hit a home run with Obama. Suck on it.
