The Epic Failure of the Main Stream Media

By Lonely Conservative

How many investigative journalists work for main stream media organizations? There must be quite a few between the three television networks, the cable outlets and the big newspapers like the New York Times, The Washington Post and USA Today(not to mention all the other newspapers in cities throughout the US.) You would think these people would care more about their careers and the continuing viability of the organizations they work for than they do about protecting democrats and their supporters.

Three recent stories highlight how little the big news organizations care about the truth and even their own ratings.

One is the Gerald Walpin scandal. The Washington Examiner is one of the few media outlets reporting the story. Did you know that on Friday the Obama administration finally released some documents to Senator Charles Grassley and Representative Darryl Issa (both republicans) after months of stonewalling? They did, and the documents reveal that the White House scrambled to justify the firing of Inspector General Gerald Walpin after the firing. This, despite the fact that Congress is supposed to have thirty days notice before the termination of any inspector general. You’d think news organizations besides the Washington Examiner would be interested in this story. Surely the American people would be interested in knowing how their tax dollars are being spent, and why a man charged with overseeing how their tax dollars were spent was fired without notice.

The second story is the ACORN scandal that never ends. This organization receives millions of taxpayer dollars and it seems their sole mission is to elect democrats. Well, that, and to help collapse the housing market. But yet again, the media ignores the story, or only reports on it when absolutely necessary - and then only in passing. It took two amateur sleuths, Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe, to expose just how corrupt and morally bankrupt that organization really is. Now that the truth is out, you’d think the media would be all over the story. Surely, there’s plenty more to discover. Just last month an ACORN office in California illegally dumped a massive number of documents into a dumpster. That little act wasn’t uncovered by a main stream media journalist, it was discovered by a private investigator who reported his findings on the Big Government website. And this is just one of many instances of wrongdoing and funny business by ACORN and its employes, yet the media remains silent.

The third, and the biggest, story is the ClimateGate scandal. If not for the blogosphere you probably wouldn’t even know about the hacked emails revealing how some of the world’s “leading climatologists” manipulated data to support the theory of global warming. One of those implicated in the scandal is Michael Mann, the creator of the famous hockey stick graph used to fool people into believing global temperatures suddenly spiked. You know – the graph that conveniently left out some inconvenient data – data that, if included in the graph, would have meant no hockey stick at all, just a bunch of peaks and valleys. Why won’t the media report this massive hoax, not just on the American people, but on all of the world’s population? Why don’t they report on the global warming profiteers who have everything to gain by selling climate change snake oil at our expense?

I could go on and on about the stories the main stream media routinely ignores, such as the estimate that the true cost of ObamaCare is almost $5 trillion over 20 years. But really, how much more evidence do we need to know that the main stream media is an epic failure? That, in my humble opinion, is the far more scandalous than any of the above stories. Talk about a hoax!
