Wow, the hatred some deranged Americans hold in their dark hearts for Sarah Palin is stunning. They’ve stooped to an all new low.

We know that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin can hunt, and even field-dress a moose, but how will she take to poachers on her book sales? Start-up publisher OR Books has announced plans to publish Going Rouge: Sarah Palin An American Nightmare, a collection of essays about the maverick Republican with a title — and cover design — remarkably similar to Palin’s upcoming memoir. What’s more, OR’s paperback tome will be released on Nov. 17, the same day that Palin’s own Going Rogue: An American Life hits shelves — and one day after Palin’s just-announced, first-ever appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show. (A shout-out to Ron Hogan at GalleyCat for the tip.)Going Rouge is compiled by Richard Kim and Betsy Reed, two top editors of the left-leaning weekly The Nation, and includes essays by Nation regulars like Katrina vanden Heuvel, Naomi Klein, and Katha Pollitt. It’s the first release from OR Books, a fledgling outfit founded earlier this year by publishing veterans John Oakes and Colin Robinson that “embraces progressive change in politics, culture and the way we do business,” according to its website.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if these people directed their energies at something constructive? But no, they prefer to spend their days trying to destroy a good woman, while propping up a nincompoop who’s hell bent on destroying the republic.

Sorry Harry

Posted by: Lonely Conservative | Comments (1)

Sorry, it’s been a very busy day and I didn’t get the chance to tell you about Harry Reid’s big failure today. I guess there are still a few democrats who are a bit nervous about bankrupting our nation even further.

Read all about how Harry Reid lost his shell game.

Remember when Porkulus was passed Obama and the democrats ranted about all the jobs they would save or create? That’s not working out so well. Seven months later 49 out of 50 states have lost jobs. Way to go!

No wonder Obama’s approval index is so low! Maybe if he focused more on the economy, and less on vilifying his ‘enemies’ and trying to ‘change’ America people would like him more.

I just can’t make this stuff up, folks. Barney Frank has come up with yet another class of American victims: the ‘underbanked.’

CNS News reports:

On Friday, Rep. Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, will join FDIC Vice Chairman Marty Gruenberg and others in a discussion of “new, safe and affordable credit options for America’s underbanked.”

The policy discussion on Capitol Hill comes as banks – reacting to new credit card rules imposed by Democrats – start pulling the plastic from current credit-card holders, a move that is sure to lead to even more “underbanked” Americans.

Press reports note that Citibank recently canceled a number of credit card accounts affiliated with the Shell, ExxonMobil, Citgo and Phillips 66-Conoco oil companies.

Citibank also has notified some customers that interest rates on unpaid balances are going up – to a whopping 29.99 percent APR, effective Nov. 30. As the new law requires, customers have been notified that they may reject the change to their accounts, in which case their accounts are closed immediately and they may continue paying off their balances at current rates over five years.

According to organizers of the upcoming Barney Frank-Marty Gruenberg event, “Nearly 40 million households in America lack access to mainstream credit and affordable small dollar loans.” Friday’s discussion will focus on efforts to address the “plight of the underbanked.” ….

One can only imagine what this is going to cost us.

I don’t know how much President Obama raked in for Bill Owens and the DNC, but he probably wouldn’t have done as well today.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

The U.S. pay czar will slash compensation for the 25 highest-paid employees at seven firms receiving large sums of government aid and demand a host of corporate-governance changes at those firms, according to people familiar with the matter.Kenneth Feinberg, the Treasury Department’s special master for compensation, will lower total compensation for 175 employees by an average of 50%, these people said. As expected, the biggest cut will be to salaries, which will drop 90% on average.

Nothing in the report about Government Motors, Chrysler or the auto union big wigs.

Correction: Apparently executives at GM and Chrysler will be included - still nothing about the union bosses.

Politico’s top story was an expose on President Obama’s enemies list. Politico spun it as: “Obama strategy: Marginalize most powerful critics.” They should have called it “Obama employs Alinski rules #12 and #13.”

#12 – Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

#13 – Identify, isolate, freeze and escalate.

Sigh. It’s getting so old. The Politico piece has the usual list of the president’s enemies – the Chamber of Commerce, Wall Street, insurance companies, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh – basically anyone who’s against his radical agenda. Well, it’s hard to tell what side Wall Street falls on. He vilified them just before a big Wall Street fundraiser. I suppose we should get used to it, and the fact that Obama will never stop campaigning.

Senator Lamar Alexander compared this behavior to that of President Nixon and likens it to street brawls.

For some strange reason RINO Dede Scozzafava decided to do a press conference outside Conservative Candidate Doug Hoffman’s Watertown headquarters. Watch as she stands there blathering while surrounded by Hoffman supporters and their signs. What’s more hilarious is that she’s calling for the candidates to answer questions when it was her labor leader husband who called the police because a reporter had the nerve to ask her questions.

This is beautiful. The irony of using Alinsky’s rules against the radicals is just so delicious.

Alinsky Rule #1: “Power isn’t only what you have, it’s what the enemy thinks you have.”

I can’t wait for Part II!

Which news story below is not absolutely made up? Choose carefully.

A:

In light of the recent tragic deaths of three Detroit marathon competitors, the government has issued a panel to look into the possibility of imposing the newest in a series of “sin taxes”. A marathon tax would be applied to help curtail this type of tragedy from repeating itself. Justice Department Says Blacks in N.C. Town Can’t Get Elected Without Democratic Party Label

The U.S. Department of Justice is refusing to allow the town of Kinston, N.C., to hold nonpartisan local elections on the grounds that African Americans cannot win election without being listed as Democrats on the ballot.

In a letter sent Saturday by to Kinston City Attorney James P. Cauley III, the Justice Department stated: “Removing the partisan cue in municipal elections will, in all likelihood, eliminate the single factor that allows black candidates to be elected to office.”

Wow, it’s so simple really. As Allahpundit noted “This seems so obviously correct that I feel embarrassed for not having figured it out sooner.”

Follow the link for the story. In a word: containment.
