With or Without Public Option Democrats Health Care Plans Will Ruin US Health Care System

There’s a sleight-of-hand game beginning in Washington now that a health bill has passed the Senate Finance Committee. It may end up bamboozling Republicans in Congress, moderate Democrats trying to block the move toward socialized medicine, and all those citizens who made a stand for freedom at tea parties and town hall meetings across America this year.
This political magician’s trick consists of fooling the crowd into gazing at the entertainer’s left hand, while his right hand is where the real action is happening.
After revelations from independent experts that a government-run health option would lure away tens of millions of private health insurance customers with artificially low premiums, wrecking the industry in the process, the idea was pronounced dead.

The public option, with or without a trigger, is what the sleight-of-hand artists want you to fix your sights on. That way, any plan passed into law without the government option makes it look like the public has dodged a bullet.
In fact, however, even without the public option the radical transformation of health care so perilously close to enactment is still a recipe for destroying the greatest system of medicine in the world.
Over $500 billion remains yet to be paid for in a final bill. And as the PricewaterhouseCoopers study released this week warns, the new taxes, regulations and other features already planned could drive premiums for an average family up nearly to $26,000 by 2019. The health insurance industry insists that forcing Americans to buy insurance is the only way such high prices will work.
Consider the likely scenario: massively higher premiums, private insurers crushed by new taxes and onerous new rules, insurance companies going out of business — and millions still uninsured.
When the above scenario comes true will there be any choice but to implement a single payer, government run health care “system” as envisioned by every lefty politician since FDR?
