Obama Fails on Olympics, Libs Blame it On Bush
ByCould these people be any more predictable? There’s nothing they won’t blame on Bush. Even Obama’s failure to sell himself to the corrupt IOC is Bush’s fault. As if his emotional, heartfelt, energetic appeal should have been enough to win over the world, if not for that evil cowboy in Texas.
Olympic swimmer Rowdy Gaines called it a hangover from the past eight years. Um, I think he may be right about the hangover, but it’s from the past eight months!
Roland Burris said Obama failed because Bush tarnished America’s image so badly even The One couldn’t undo the damage. As if two dead boys in the streets of Chicago in the past week had nothing to do with tarnishing Chicago’s image.
Maybe Obama should have given the IOC voters iPods with video of all his speeches. They only got to hear him and his wife talk about themselves for a few minutes. Perhaps a few hours of hubris would have made the difference.

Finally, here’s video of Obama’s press conference. I think it’s the first time he showed up early for one of these things. He wanted to get it over with. Not only did he lose the Olympics, another couple hundred thousand Americans lost their jobs. He said nothing about all the money he just wasted, nor about his very brief meeting with General McChrystal.

It turned out just as I suspected as soon as I heard Barry was going to make that trip. Thanks Barry, you’ve done enough already. I don’t think Chicago deserved the Olympics anyway.
You just KNOW Obama thought he could persuade the IOC all on his own because he thinks he’s the chosen one. I wonder when he’ll learn.
How could our wonderful leader fail us like this? Oh well, the olympics will be in Rio, i’ll be down there hanging out w/my friend Hugo Chavez, it will be a shorter flight.

Well, whaddya expect . . . those Olympic committee types are just another nest of racists.
IMHO, what Obama accomplished with his blame-W rant was to get Chicago dropped from contention before Tokyo. Rio was just too good a choice to pass up – - first South America Olympics, in a country that’s a rising star in international trade (and makes a damned fine jet liner, to boot). Not to mention the great Carnival floats and costumes – - Rio knows how to party.
But on the other hand, when O is out of the White House, he’s not signing more spending bills. Trip well worth it, if you ask me.
Do you suppose the IOC got wind of how an honor student got beaten to death in broad daylight on the streets of Chicago? Not exactly the kind of image one would want to portray of America.
But then I couldn’t figure out the Olympics being held in China either. Where next, I ask? Iran?
After 8 months of travelling the world, telling every audience just what a foul mess the USA is, why would he expect the IOC to hold their party in such an country as the one that he’s been describing?
