Weekend Round Up

By Lonely Conservative

There’s never a dull moment these days, even on weekends. Here’s the news you may have missed over the weekend.

Team Obama is quietly lobbying Congress to hurry up and pass a climate change bill. The economy isn’t bad enough for his taste, and he figures a huge tax on Americans will do the trick. Speaking of the economy, Obama is calling for world financial regulations. That can’t be good.

Health care “reform” proponents are calling on their minions to “escalate” attacks against “enemies” of reform. Is this what Nancy Pelosi is so afraid of?

Obama did the “full Ginsburg” as the pundits like to call it. He’s so over exposed these days I think “The Full Monty” is more like it. Surprisingly he was put on defense by none other than George Stephanopoulos. He swears an unconstitutional insurance mandate is not a tax, even after clarifying what the definition of “tax” is. Other than that, he was lobbed soft balls, and continued his nasty little habit of lying. Of course he refused to appear on Fox News, and the petty crybabies in the White House couldn’t help but take the bait, calling Chris Wallace a whiner or something.

While the networks were focused on their heart throb, Chris Wallace had the only interview with ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis. It was about what one would expect, and she skirted the question of whether ACORN will open it’s books to Congress. Figures.

Obama signaled he’s open to bailing out some of his biggest supporters – the newspaper business. Hey, but don’t worry about the American media becoming the next Pravda, it’s already happened.

Be on the lookout for Andrew Breitbart’s next big bombshell, set to be released this week. Care to guess what it could be? Whatever it is, it sounds big.

Mitt Romney had a little fun this weekend. Before a crowd of religious conservatives he said “I’ll bet you never dreamed you’d look back on the Carter years as the good old days.” In all fairness, had it occurred to Carter to nationalize every American industry he certainly would have. And speaking of fairness, after Carter’s charges of racism against anyone who disagrees with Obama, you may want to take a gander at his own record of racism. I guess the man John McCain called the “worst president of the 20th century” never heard that old “glass houses” adage.

That’s all the news I can stomach for one night. God only knows what they have in store for us in the coming week.

Update: I almost forgot about this one: The Obama administration is targeting Americans who have garage sales! I’m still trying to come up with a way to explain to my eight year old why we have to throw his old toys in the trash, rather than selling them in our driveway. Are lemonade stands still allowed?

Talk about Lonely Conservatives! I was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts! Which should explain why I’m a rank conservative today. Like the saying goes, no one hates Communism more than those who have lived under it ;-)

Thanks again for the link and H/T. Best Regards, Johnny Simpson.
