Oh Lucky Us – Obama to Memorialize Collapse of Lehman Brothers with a Speech

By Lonely Conservative

What was that old cartoon where the guy would say “Savoir Faire is everywhere!”? Remember? Today the toon would say “Barack Obama is everywhere! But he keeps dropping in the polls.” You’d think that would tell him something. Maybe he should talk a little bit less. It’s one thing to be a smooth talking campaigner. A smooth talking inept President is quite another. I guess he’s just too into himself to get it. He’ll mark the anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers with a big speech on Monday. (I guess the left finds the collapse of a large financial institution something to celebrate.)

“He will discuss the aggressive steps the Administration has taken to bring the economy back from the brink (and) the commitment to winding down the government’s role in the financial sector,” the White House said in a statement.

If I recall, President Bush is the one who took the steps to stabilize the financial sector. Even while many of his supporters (myself included) strongly disagreed. If any government action stabilized the economy, it was the actions taken last fall, not the Porkulus bill Obama signed in the winter. But he will certainly take credit for the jobless recovery, all the while claiming to have “saved or created” a million jobs.
