Friday News Round Up
By Lonely ConservativeI dread congress returning from vacation. For one, congress is controlled by a bunch of liberal whack jobs doing everything they can to destroy the economy and our republic. And secondly, it’s nearly impossible to keep up with the news when they’re all on vacation. Geez. Just wait until they return. Here’s the latest:
Bloomberg: Obama May Need Sense of Crisis to Revive Health Care Overhaul – Not that he needs Bloomberg to remind him of that!
Michael O’Brien: Pence calls for Van Jones’s resignation – Nice to see there’s at least one republican on the Hill taking notice.
Glenn Thrush: Boehner calls on Rangel to give up gavel – Rangel replied “back off.”
Erik Erickson: A 20 Year Ago Thesis is Bigger News than Van Jones, According to Washington Post – You’d think Bob McDonnell called someone a Macacaw or something. (I wonder why WaPo didn’t dig into a certain presidential candidate’s college thesis.)
Fox News: Gates Assails ‘Appalling’ Decision by AP to Release Photo of Dying Marine - This is appalling!
Patterico: US Threatens Not to Recognize Results of Honduran Election in November – Under Obama’s bus go the Hondurans.
Ethyl Fenning: Teenage girl who fear honor killing for converting to stay in Florida – This is good news, for now anyway.
Allahpundit: Great news: White House working on its own health care plan now – Oh lucky us.
Catherine Rampell: Oh What a Time to Be Young! – New York Times fails to point out the spike in teenage unemployment correlates directly with the increase in the minimum wage. Must be simple oversight.
Brian Faughn – Begun, the Liberal Civil War Has - The latest in the “I want mine” liberal brigade. Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa says scrap public option and give us card check!
Peggy Noonan: Coruscating on Thin Ice - Ms. Noonan’s awakening is a bit too little and much too late.
And just for fun, Jim Geraghty posted this video of Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind) who really didn’t want to appear on You Tube. Heh, heh!
One more thing (sorry to ruin your last weekend of summer).
Sammy Benoit: Scientists Predict 10-20 Years of Global Cooling – Yikes! This isn’t good news for those of us in northern states.
