How Vile: Lockerbie Bomber was treated to a hero’s welcome in Libya

By Lonely Conservative

In follow up to my earlier post, here’s video of the Pan Am 103 bomber receiving a heroes welcome in Libya. What a disgrace!

This act of terrorism hit my community especially hard, because 35 Syracuse University students lost their lives on Pan Am 103. Every year those 35 young lives are memorialized. Those responsible showed absolutely no compassion for the precious lives on board that flight. In all 270 human beings had their lives extinguished by a madman.

And the people of Libya gave him a hero’s welcome.

Part Two of that equation is the wide circle of people, each connected to a single student, who were changed (and often completely destroyed) forever. FOREVER. Not just a few years. Not until “closure” (pffft!). Entirely, and FOREVER.

I expected this from Libya; might as well just accept that the Middle East is, indeed, at war with the West. I expect cheering from those 7th century Bedouin cultures.

I expected far, far more from our British cousins (I suspect if a Scot had REALLY been in charge, this man would have been executed about 30 minutes after conviction. The Scots I do not paint with the broad, pink, compassionate British brush).

That was not “compassion”. That was confused morality.

ll this notwithstanding the fact that al-Magrahi was innocent, and it was a convenient set up at the time (with circumstancial evidence pinned on him). The British relatives of Lockerbie victims have a different view than the US ones, as they have been campaigning for a new inquiry to establish the true facts of who bombed 103 – as there is enough evidence to suggest is was terroist eliments from Syria and Iran.
