Worth a Read

By Lonely Conservative

So much news, so much corruption, so little time. Here’s the latest on July 27, 2009.

The Pope of Hope has failed to inspire the people of Israel. Their (recent) disillusionment with the United States seems to be intensifying. There was an anti-US demonstration outside the home of PM Benjamin Netanyahu today. Our enemies still hate us, and now, thanks to Obama, so do our friends.

The majority of Americans who have health insurance believe there is a “health care crisis” (why wouldn’t they after having it pounded into their heads for decades) but most like their own health plans. Support for the democrats health care proposals is dropping because most Americans are starting to realize that somehow, they will wind up with the short end of the stick in the deal. They’re right.

Do you believe President Obama is smart? You may not after you read this – a look at his deficiencies when it comes to knowledge of history, economics, law, geography and grammar. Sure, maybe he’s just gaffe prone like his vice president. Or maybe they’re both really dumb.

Isn’t it ironic the way Nancy Pelosi promised in 2006 to put an end to the “culture of corruption?” Yeah right, funny, I know. When the corruption of a republican is exposed, the republican usually sulks off into obscurity, never to be heard from again. When democrats are exposed as corrupt the media ignores it and the corrupt democrats get re-elected over and over again. Today we not only have the likes of Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad’s dirty dealing exposed, we have a whole cadre of unelected, corrupt czars. So many that Michelle Malkin wrote an entire book on the subject.

Speaking of corruption, the Wall Street Journal shines a light on the pension plans of the biggest unions in the US. Guess what!?! The union bosses receive much sweeter benefits than the dues-paying workers. And the plans covering the labor chiefs are well funded, while those covering the workers are in the red. Not that the workers have anything to worry about, the taxpayers will eventually pick up the tab – just like we did last week when we bailed out Delphi’s pension plan to the tune of $6.2 billion.

Oh, and let’s not forget about Charlie Rangel. The democrat tax cheat who loves to vote for high taxes. Read all about it. Sure to make you glad you’re a law abiding citizen.
