Can you afford a Lexus?
Posted by: | Comments
I know I can’t afford a Lexus. So why am I paying for one with my tax dollars? The Wall Street Journal had to search thousands of pages of congressional spending records because the information isn’t available electronically. You’ll be stunned at what they found we the taxpayers are on the hook for.
Rep. Michael Turner – R Ohio – $1435 for a Sony Digital SLR Camera
Rep. Alcee Hastings – D Florida – $24370 for a lease on a 2008 Lexus GS450H
Rep. Rodney Alexander – R Louisiana – $20,000 for a lease on a Toyota Highlander hybrid SUV
Rep. Eni Faleomavaega – D American Samoa – $1473 for a flat screen TV
Rep. Howard Berman – D California – $84,000 for personalized calenders for his constituents
President Obama just told us we’re broke. They’re considering all sorts of interesting new ways of squeezing more money out of the American taxpayer. They’re spending money like drunken sailors on luxury items for themselves themselves. And they couldn’t even lease their luxury automobiles from US carmakers. What a disgrace.

Hey Janeane Garofalo: Come to our Tea Party
Posted by: | CommentsKatrina Pierson calls out Janeane Garofalo: Come to our Tea Party in Dallas on July Fourth. This is a great video that should be shared.
What Ms. Garofalo doesn’t understand is that most tea party protesters, and conservatives, are just regular Americans. We all go to work every day. We all make mistakes. The big myth in America is that conservatives are a bunch of un-sympathic people. It’s not true. We are humans, just like everyone else. We make mistakes just like everyone else – the difference is that we believe in personal responsibility.
If I make a mistake, I pay for my mistake. And you know what, I also learn from my mistake. Democrats think it’s mean to make a human being learn from his mistake. But in reality, what’s mean is to make that person dependent on government.
Why is that simple concept so difficult to comprehend?

Not that he’s advocating it….
New to the blogging scene, Albany Conservative has a similar idea. Stop the withholding from your paycheck, invest the money and then pay your taxes in April. Not only will it hurt the Treasury (which has no treasure, by the way) but you’ll earn a little interest on your money. I would also add, if there were no tax withholding Americans would really get a taste of what the federal government takes from them every year. It would be much more visible, which is a good thing.
