Republicans on Thin Ice
By Lonely ConservativeI don’t know what republicans are thinking, but they better start getting their act together or we’re going to have radical democrats in charge for a long, long time.
John McCain voted for the GIVE Act. Has he lost his mind? Does he have so little faith in the American people that he doesn’t believe we do enough without the federal government directing our volunteerism?
Eric Cantor, the alleged rising star of the Republican Party, voted “present” on the pay for performance bill that passed Congress. And no, it’s not about our representatives’ performance, it’s about the performance of employees of private companies that the government wants to control. I don’t know if Cantor is spineless, stupid or both, but this is certainly not the sort of leadership the Republican Party needs right now. Also, nearly a dozen House republicans voted for the bill.
Mitt Romney’s gone a bit squishy. At the NSRC spring dinner he told republicans they shouldn’t hope for President Obama to fail. Obama has every intention of destroying our republic and turning us into a statist, socialist nation. I certainly hope Mr. Romney isn’t cheering for that plan. He supported Obama for firing Rick Wagoner. Has Romney confused the role of boards of directors with that of the President of the United States? Boards of directors fire CEO’s, not presidents!
Newt Gingrich had a stern warning for Republicans which they’d be wise to heed.
“If the Republicans can’t break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012,” Gingrich said Wednesday during a speech at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri.

They disgust me. “Go along to get along”.
Pfffft.
Third party, here I come…
The problem with third parties is: they never win! How do we get these Republicans to start acting like REPUBLICans? Do they not understand the meaning of the word Republic? What are they doing? They’ve lost their minds and if they don’t knock it off they’re going to lose their jobs and we’re all going to lose our rights (whatever we have left in 2010.)
Just a small rant!!! Goodnight!
Well, and that’s really the problem: over a period of years with the overuse of the word “democracy” people have completely forgotten–or never learned–that we are a Constitutional Republic and we’re not at all about mob rule or “majority rule”. We have always been about individual rights, personal rights and responsibilities–and they don’t even understand that. Someone said all great societies last approximately 200 years before they implode. I always hoped we were the exception.
Third party wouldn’t win, no–not against an army of socialists. I don’t know what we’re gonna dooooooo (just a small whine!! Goodnight!)
