The Rest of the News

It looks like President Obama is going to drop plans for a missile shield in exchange for help from Russia on Iran. How do you say “naive sellout” in Russian?

Speaking of Russia, or should I say, the USSR; CNN and ABC News continue to receive their talking points from the Obama White House.

Surprise! Another one of Obama’s appointees has a little tax problem. This time it’s his nominee for US Trade Representative, Ron Kirk. He’s expected to be appointed despite his tax troubles, because, well, there just aren’t enough Democrats who pay their share of taxes.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at it’s lowest point since April of 1997. How low can it go? Let Obama keep talking and we’ll find out.

While Michell Obama was employed at the University of Chicago Medical Center she helped create what’s known as a “patient-dumping” program. She had help from none other than David Axelrod in ridding the hospital of low income patients. That’s a story you aren’t going to hear from ABC or CNN.

The numbers have been crunched and it looks like Obama’s cap and trade tax will amount to a huge tax increase on every American (not just the top 5%). How’s that for “change we can believe in”?

Have I missed anything?

GOP Chair Michael Steele said Rush Limbaugh’s remarks to CPAC were “incendiary” and “ugly”. I’ve been supportive of Michael Steele, but this is disappointing. When will Republicans learn their lesson? I watched Rush Limbaugh’s speech at CPAC and found nothing at all ugly or incendiary about his words. There was nothing in his speech that was untrue.

The problem with Republicans is fear. They fear President Obama. They understand Obama’s political brilliance. They see a man with high approval ratings and don’t want to do or say anything that may be unpopular. But they aren’t seeing the forest for the trees here. President George W. Bush had high approval ratings, espcially after 9/11. How long did it take for the Left to end its respite from attacks against him?

For eight years the Left’s attacks on President Bush never let up. Whether he was right or wrong, whether he reached out to them or not, no matter what he did he was criticized and ridiculed incessantly. It got to the point where no Republican wanted to be seen in public with him, despite the fact that he continued to be a major fundraiser for the Republican party.

If Michael Steele and the rest of the Republicans don’t wake up to what they’re up against they’re toast, and so are the rest of us. Ayn Rand said that ”the alleged victories of evil are made possible only by the flaws and the errors of those who are essentially good. Evil, left to its own devices, is impotent and self defeating.” Our side’s errors have allowed radical leftists to take control of our nation. We have to stop aiding and abetting them. They have the media for that.

Rush is right and Republicans should have the guts to say he’s right. We don’t want Obama to succeed at turning us into a socialist country. We don’t want him to succeed at wrecking the economy to the point where the majority of Americans are dependent on the government. If he succeeds our nation as we know it will fail and it won’t be pretty.

What good did it do John McCain to run a clean campaign against Barack Obama? What good did it do to throw people under the bus for telling the truth? None at all! He was still accused of running a dirty campaign.

Michael Steele and the rest of the Republicans need to remember who they’re dealing with. They need to study Saul Alinsky, find out how and why they were defeated and start fighting fire with fire.

Update: Rush Limbaugh responded to Michael Steele today.

Here’s White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel speaking to Bob Schiefer on Sunday March 1, 2009. How many lies can you spot? Hint: His first sentence contains a lie.

There’s nothing more annoying than global warming alarmists, except global warming alarmists protesting global warming when it’s really cold out. It’s bitter cold and I haven’t stopped shivering in days. So naturally I’m especially peeved not only that my tax dollars go to pay the salary of NASA’s Dr. James Hansen, but that he’s encouraging protesters to break the law.

In a video on capitolclimateaction.org, Dr. James Hansen is seen urging Americans to “take a stand on global warming” during the March 2 protest at the Capitol Power Plant in Southeast Washington, D.C.

“We need to send a message to Congress and the president that we want them to take the actions that are needed to preserve climate for young people and future generations and all life on the planet,” says Hansen, who has likened coal-fired power plants to “factories of death” and claims he was muzzled by the Bush administration when he warned of drastic climate changes.

“What has become clear from the science is that we cannot burn all of the fossil fuels without creating a very different planet. The only practical way to solve the problem is to phase out the biggest source of carbon — and that’s coal.”

And why do these loons schedule their little protests in winter? Wouldn’t they be more believable if they protested in the summer when a major winter storm is unlikely? Who knows, maybe the heavy snowfall will put a damper on their plans. I suggest they use windmills and solar panels to keep warm.

Wait, here’s a novel idea! Let’s invest in more nuclear plants! Don’t the liberals love France? Why aren’t they on board to be more like France when it comes to energy production? That’s simple, whether it’s the economy or energy, the left wants nothing more than to recycle failed procedures while dismissing what works.
