I ran out of time yesterday to get to Jake Tapper grilling White House spokesman Robert Gibbs about the lies told by President Obama regarding Caterpillar and the stimulus plan. It’s pretty amusing. The President even urged Caterpillar’s employees to call their representative, Aaron Schock and tell him to vote for the CRAP act. Rep. Schock came out and said he had more than 1400 calls, emails and faxes from Caterpillar employees telling him to vote against the porkulus! Ouch! Click here for the videos.
There’s also a bit of good news! Senator Specter’s poll numbers in PA are way down. Now that’s something to celebrate over the weekend!

I’d love to be the glass-is-half-full guy but I’m not today. Yesterday, a good friend of mine got laid off. I live in Elkhart, Indiana where we are currently known for the highest unemployment in the country. Long story short, as I heard the news about my friend and watched yesterday as Obama’s socialist package got fast-tracked through the House and the Senate, a real fear for our nation’s future came over me. My young nephews were at my house and I turned to them and said, “Forgive us, boys, for destroying the country your children will inherit.” I meant it too. I suppose life would be a bit easier if we didn’t care so much.
Jeremy, I had a similar conversation with my son. I wish the best for you friend and hope he finds a job soon. I go from envying those who are ignorant to the events unfolding before our eyes to being mad at them. Neither works for me so I’ll just put them out of my mind. They’ll figure it out soon enough.
I started to see that last night. I actually had several members from the church over and I think everyone of them was leery of Obama but never realized until very recently how serious the matter was. But they were the easy “converts” because they didn’t even vote for Obama or any of the Democrats this past year.

Jeremy… I know I’m a little late getting to this post, being almost 11 days old….but I do have what I hope is a word of encouragement for you. Please take this in the spirit in which it is given; The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. I work in the financial services industry and I deal day-to-day with people from the Great Depression era and from the WWII era…and I can tell you that it is 100% entirely true that these individuals make up what is now known as the ‘Greatest Generation’. Those who sacrificed, those who went without, they persevered and they did ultimately prosper beyond anyones imagination. Perhaps this debacle our country is in now will, by it’s shear suddenness create another generation like theirs. I think the current generation (children born from 1980 to the present) may perhaps be bettered…. if they can only be taught that the enemy is no longer one in a foreign country trying invade and disrupt our way of life, but that it is right here in our own back yard. We must enlighten and encourage the participation of our youth, as well as ourselves as to what is about to happen to these magnificent and sovereign United States of America. Take a stand. Take charge. Take hold of an issue and make a run for it. Draw a line in the sand. This is how countries and children are saved. This is how we all keep our jobs and our paychecks. We have 2 years until mid-term elections. Get out there and get these Dem/Soc’s out from behind the wheel. The wheel that will crush us in the end if we sit by and let it happen.
