President Obama turns up the heat – in the Oval Office!
ByWho can forget candidate Obama’s lecture to the American people, telling us we can’t just keep our thermostats at 72 degrees all the time. Well, our sanctimonious new president isn’t practicing what he preaches.
While the rest of us shiver through winter (I just turned my thermostat UP to 68 because even with my sweater, turtleneck and cordoroys I’m freezing) President Obama has the thermostat in the Oval Office set so high you could grow orchids in there. And that’s according to his senior advisor David Axelrod.
President Obama – just another energy hogging democrat.

Axelrod justifies this hyprocracy by saying that The One is from Hawaii, accustomed to warm climes. Where has BHO lived the last 30 years?
Do as I say, not as I do. sheeesh Change everyone can believe in. I tried to give him a chance to be something besides the looney left wing, lobbiest money taking, America hating, racist, disrespectful of the Presidential office, demoncat that I figured him for during the campaign.
That time has come and gone. All in less the 2 weeks. I will be praying for these United States of America.
I guess you don’t think we have more important things to worry about. Thanks to the fine shape Bush and his crew left our country in.
WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (UPI) — President Barack Obama teasingly scoffed at the apparent wimpiness of Washingtonians when faced with cold weather.
“My children’s school was canceled today because of what? Some ice?” Obama said before a meeting with some of the nation’s biggest business leaders, drawing laughs.
Washington has been zapped with freezing drizzle and other wintry precipitation with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees F. The National Weather Service said up to a quarter-inch of ice could accumulate Wednesday.
“As my children pointed out,” Obama said to chuckles, “in Chicago, school is never canceled” and students “wouldn’t even stay indoors” at recess.
He said he might have to look into applying some “Chicago toughness” in the nation’s capital.
“When it comes to weather,” he said, “folks in Washington don’t seem to be able to handle things.”
I just finished a wonderful new book called The Manhattan Project of 2009 Energy Independence Now by author Jeff Wilson. It is without a doubt the best book out there. We seriously need to get on with utilizing alternative energy. The high cost of oil this past year seriously damaged our economy and society. The trickle down effects will be felt for years to come. The cost of fuel affects the price of every consumer product. Oil is finite it will run out one day in the not too distant future. We are using oil globally at the rate of 2 X faster than new oil is being discovered. We have so much available to us in the way of natural energy, wind , solar, wave plus the modern technologies of hybrid etc. What America seems to lack is a plan. This book even outlines a plan, a legislative agenda. It is fascinating and brings the act of weaning America off oil into perspective. http://www.themanhattanprojectof2009.com
