Hope and Change-Day One
By Lonely ConservativeAs expected, President Obama will close Guantanamo Bay and suspend Guantanamo war crimes trials. Do you wonder if he expected the outrage from 9/11 families, or if he even cares? Just where we will house the terrorists remains to be seen. Probably a red state.
President Obama wasted no time in lifting a ban on using our tax dollars to fund abortions overseas. I’m sure this is exactly what millions of Americans had in mind when they cast their votes for hopeandchange.
With a glowing recommendation from none other than maverick John McCain, Hillary Clinton was confirmed as Secretary of State. Republicans sure are nice, aren’t they?
Timothy Geithner testified at his confirmation hearing that he goofed on his taxes. The man tapped to be the next Treasury Secretary said he used Turbo Tax to prepare his returns. What software package did he use to track the first half of the unaccounted for TARP funds?
President Obama’s economic team went right to work today, planning the best way for the government to rescue the US economy. Rather than employing methods that have worked in the past, they prefer to print, borrow and spend billions of dollars. They’re coming up with ingenious ways of doing so. One of the most interesting is the idea of forming a bad bank. That’s an interesting concept, but I wouldn’t recommend making a deposit.
No word yet on whether Barack Obama will go along with the Democrats’ step toward nationalizing the health care system. It’s likely the legislation will pass, with little protest from the new congressional lap dogs, aka the Republicrats.
As we march towards socialism rest easy knowing that Fidel Castro believes in President Obama. Hope and change have come at last.
