Now it’s McCain’s fault Obama’s awful without a teleprompter
Barack Obama is super slick when delivering prepared speeches, but his off-the-cuff remarks leave a lot to be desired. Take for instance his awkward comments shortly after Russia invaded Georgia. He was certainly less than awe-inspiring. Later he flopped a bit, and delivered another statement that sounded more like a father reprimanding his children than the would-be leader of the free world.
Saturday, Obama was like a fish out of water at Saddleback. He evaded answering even the simplest of questions and it is widely agreed that John McCain wiped the floor with Obama. McCain was at his best, and his only gaffe (if you believe the left) is when he jokingly said $5 million is middle class.
McCain clearly won that round, hands down. There is no question about it and Obama and his campaign can’t stand it. The “One” has been shown to be merely mortal, who isn’t so adroit without a teleprompter and a gaggle of adoring fans. So now they are accusing John McCain of cheating by listening in on Obama’s quetions. How else could he have been so prepared?
It hasn’t crossed their minds that maybe, just maybe, Saddleback was the sort of venue where John McCain is comfortable and at ease, where he is the most “himself”. Obama should just come out and say what he really means: “Beware John McCain, he’s comfortable at church.”
